Miscellaneous Cosplay

This section of the site is dedicated to my miscellaneous cosplays; characters I portray that only feature a couple of photos (I call them 'One Shot' cosplays).

Batgirl

"The Barbara Gordon version of Batgirl made regular appearances in Batman-related comics from 1967 to 1988. The official retirement of Batgirl took place in Batgirl Special #1 (June 1988), which was published a few months after Barbara Gordon's shooting by The Joker in the graphic novel Batman: The Killing Joke (March 1988). Editor Kim Yale and comic book author John Ostrander later reinvented Barbara Gordon as Oracle, the premier information broker of the DC Comics Universe and leader of the Birds of Prey organization."

About the costume

Although this is an official DC costume, it really isn't based on a particular version of Batgirl. This is pretty much a sexed up version meant to be sexy, not accurate to the comic book. This costume was loaned to me for a radio station appearance (WMMR's Hottie Cam) and is made by Rubie's. Wig is the same one I use for Hawkgirl.

Dr. Sela Mathers: Grimm Fairy Tales

"Sela Mathers is the main character of Grimm Fairy Tales and the essential thread that ties each issue together. She is a beautiful and mysterious professor with the unique ability to transport those she chooses into the fairy tale world in order to teach lessons in morality."

-Grimm Fairy Tales Hardcover volume 1 & 2

About the costume

This was very simple for someone like me. I used a suit I all ready owned, my reading glasses and my copy of Grimm Fairy Tales hardcover volume 1 and 2 as a prop (which is also a reproduction of Sela's book. When you remove the jacket you notice the actual book has the same design as the professor's). I also used an apple to represent Snow White's posioned apple. The actual apple is carved from wood. No wig was required.

Sue Storm aka The Invisible Woman: Fantastic Four (Jessica Alba variant)

"In Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, Sue Storm's wedding to Mister Fantastic is interrupted by the arrival of the Silver Surfer. Sue reminds the Silver Surfer of the woman he loved back on his homeworld. This association, and the friendship with Sue which follows, leads the Surfer to turn against his master, Galactus."
